Stream

…I wrote this free verse poem in a single-draft, stream of consciousness, surrealistic spirit, with minimum edits, inspired by the ‘We Write Poetry’ prompt #11 — hence the title.
I then re-imagined it from a steganograhic perspective, and added the flash fiction prologue, so as to also offer it in response to the July [...]

Mind’s Eye
•
I sit
with my mind’s eye
I watch the flow of people
the shuffle of feet
with their different sounds
according to their shoes
I see wan faces of unsmiling lips
their void curves denounce this night
yet unseen
is the gossamer curtain’s fall
that defines their soul’s duality
the divergent reality
through which truth stumbles blind
to move in the [...]

Space Is
•
a lightless void of soundless vacuum
spinning masses of revolving orbs
hurtling fragments in crystalline vapors
molten cores
mingled gasses
dead husks
black holes
magnetic icefalls
plasma rain
liquid lightening
solid clouds
attractions and repulsions
of precarious fragility
a frozen dance of chaos
on the tentative [...]

Caisson

Caisson
•
see you
see you in this carrion half-light
unworthy scavengers
you cluster to ravage
to defile the entity
drawn in this caisson
but you cannot
the living presence it bore
is greater than you
your gluttonness lust
might pick the meat clean
pick the bones dry
but this being has lived well beyond the muscle
beyond the sinew tendon and bone
these were its limits
now it is set free
so [...]

Alchemy
•
you cannot change
a heart of iron
into a heart of gold
no precious warmth
will manifest
from something hard and cold
a love that’s locked
and set in cast
can never be set free
there is no hope
nor magic spell
not even alchemy
you cannot stop
the hands of time
from spinning ever on
when the sand
is through the hourglass
those days are ever gone
you cannot bring summer back
when [...]

…I might find it interesting to believe that we are not alone in this universe within universes. I believe ‘others’ are observing us, and are concerned by our behavior. Called many things through the ages, such as “travelers”, “those that are”, “angles”, among others: I believe they have been here, and perhaps some [...]

I’ve grown dark in my spirit over the past year, and I want to find my way back to the light and the wonder that used to fill me. I am posting this piece I wrote a couple years ago to remind myself of when I was still in touch with my sense of [...]

Distant Farewell
•
“I’ve watched
golden fire clouds,
hanging in pale green skies,
over the azure seas of Toluras”
“I’ve seen the copper leaves
of the parmus fronds
flashing from indigo mountains
in the crystal mists of Gemin.”
“I have beheld exquisite beauty
in my rich, full life
but none so beautiful
as your eyes tonight”
Artheo whispers
his breath warms
the tender lobe
of my eager ear
he presses his lips
softly to [...]
