Gravity

but glide
like a bird in flight
I would soar skyward
in sweeping circles
lifted on mighty thermals
I would not be earthbound
not a captive of gravity
if I could
but break the gravity
of time
I would not be a prisoner
of regret
I would return to you
this day would be soaring
and swooping
and giving thanks
for feathers and hollow bones
and forgiveness

Love this one, Rob, especially that last word forgiveness. Sometimes I think reunions are meant for no other purpose. Forgiveness of self, as well as others.

I don’t have any regrets, but but it would be comforting to know I’ve been forgiven for any regret I’ve caused in others.

Nice work! I rarely leave a comment - takes all my energy to read the small font against the black background!
But then…My eyes aren’t as good as they used to be either. Darn.

That was beautiful Rob. Of all the things in the animal world the ability to fly both physically and emotionally and mentally is the one that I covet the most.
