Streets Of Hell

Dedicated to Peace

Hell
is not
an abstract
it’s very real
it is evident in the stench of death

from the bodies lying in Ukraine streets
left where they fell
broken raw
killed by
greed

the
truth is
hell is not
beyond the veil
evil has delivered it at our feet

blood stained now by vile human arrogance
by evil men
cowards all
spineless
weak

who
attempt
to show strength
through brutal deeds
smite them — do not relent until they’re crushed

    1. These are days of profound evil and deep sadness — may the world suppress and survive the human driven horror once again. Righteous Bullets and inspired verse — until all that is required is verse.

  1. When evil is crushed, justice will be done! May Ukraine and all the free world have courage to face this menace. Powerful write, Rob.

    1. Thanks Lynn! That maniac must be stopped. As close and as small as the world is getting now communication wise, it is time the nations of the world stop tolerating that kinda bullshit! Asshats like Putin can’t hide what they do anymore — not like in my youth during the 40’s, 50’s, or 60’s. Now there can be instantaneous worldwide video evidence of atrocities as they happen, in realtime. We need to put real teeth in the United Nations.

    1. But we have effective ways to call to the faces of evil and openly condemn them — that id not nothing — if we can rally just a few to see the human side of kindness ghat wd all bleed, and that we are all some folks children. We CAN NOT BE SILENT,

  2. I think it is all man and his grandiose dream… so many wrongs being, there is a very very long way back.

    1. I have wanted so much all my life, to have a better opinion about the human situation, but this proliferation of pure evil in this world is finally getting to me. I was a true, sincere, long-haired hippie believer in peace and love from a very early age. That is why I formed band after band, through high school college and beyond for over 30 years, became the lyricist in my bands at age 16, protested vehemently the Viet Nam war, traveled by motorcycle on several cross country trips, lived in multiple hippie communes in different parts of our country, stopped doing drugs and alcohol in 1983, continue carrying my desperate hope for peace and love forward as a poet 60 now years later, disagree completely with Republicans in this country, find Trump and his cronies and supporters repulsive, cannot abide cruel assholes like Putin, and am totally disheartened and angry about what we are doing to our earth — I have almost completely lost faith that most humans are worth saving… though I have my favorites. I do find the natural environs of my Great Pacific Northwest spiritually invigorating, and pray it will still be here for my children’s, children’s, children — and beyond… but I am no longer confident in that reality.

  3. Rob it’s difficult not to feel discouraged and helpless at what’s happening in Ukraine. There is no way to rationalize oneself out of the horror 🙁
