The Sculptor

The Canyon Trail system leads hikers along the banks of the north and south forks of Silver Creek, to 10 majestic waterfalls, including the grand South Falls (177 feet) pictured below.

• magnified section of photo to show scale
•
gazing upon this magnificent canyon
cut by time and current in the great rock of the earth
I marvel at the power
at the beauty
at the determination of the relentless river
sculpting this majestic work
tumbling timelessly in crystal clarity
over boulder and falls
ever onward

Your two photos are so colourful that they looked like they were painted. Did you venture to the other side of the fall?

great waterfall with a suitable name.
Is it possible for you to choose another color as background for this form? It is impossible to where to write.

Interesting that you call the falls a sculptor and, of course, you are right! Lovely views of the falls!

Hi Stine -
Thank you for visiting…
To be more precise, I refer to the river as the sculptor — of many things as it flows through time. The falls in this case is the sculpture.

Lovely cadence, the rhythm flowing so much like nature, I feel I am there in your glorious poem. Pictures are awesome, water looks like it is a spirit! Is it true that Oregan is named after Oregon? Sounds like a Celestial sojourn. Lovely.
