Writing Hiatus

Just finished writing over 70 poems, plus some essays, here in April for National Poetry Month 2010. I’m taking a hiatus for a bit from steady writing. I’m re-opening Writer’s Island tomorrow, Saturday May 1st, to offer weekly prompts to other poets/writers. I am also re-focusing on a long-unfolding project targeted at future publication. I’ll still write some poetry, bit very casually for a while. 😉

  1. Rob, I noticed you are also a musician. Yeah, I’m a jazzer, but did tour with Rickie Lee Jones (first tour) and saw that “other side,” also worked at the Great American Food and Beverage Company in the late 70s, lots of acoustic rock there… anyway, thank you for your Message In A Bottle. That man had a lot to say, and one hopes the message was found and delivered. But for him to simply put it out there… that’s the point of redemption. Letting it go, in writing or any form. Very effective. See you on the prompts – after Robert Lee Brewer got me started at Poetic Asides, I’m hooked! (But in a good way…)

    1. You a musician as well, very cool. I have all or Rickie Lee’s stuff. though I never gigged with her I’ve seen her perform twice, Once somewhat sober & straight, once not so… She was either quite good, or not so – as was her recorded stuff… but great potential!

When my group was opening for bands in the 60’s and early 70’s — damned near everybody went on stage high. Worked for some, not so for others. But all good memories… 😉

Glad to meet you, in a cyber sort of way. And very pleased you’ve joined in for some writing!!
