Original DDE™ art: “Love’s Sustain” by: rob kistner © 10/30/25
—-<§>—-
a single note drifts soft through midnight air
its silver thread entwines my broken heart
it sustains in longing — tender and aware
then shivers where the moonlight’s whispers start—
a fragile echo — love’s unfinished art
it rises trembles falls — yet never dies
the stars lean close to listen — mesmerized
a breath made sound — a sigh that’s half a prayer
as tears like chords of yearning fill my eyes
for music feels what silence cannot bear

Lovely evocation of the effect of music. And what a wonderful piece of Bette’s you chose!
Thank you Rose Mary… 😉 that performance by Bette is extraordinarily fragile, and beautifully precious!
Great last line! ?
Thank you Shaun. The power of vulnerable truth. 😐
I love the way you mixed the music into this… well done
Thank you Björn for me, without the art I create, and the music I align — the statement isn’t complete.
This is my favorite part: a breath made sound — a sigh that’s half a prayer. Lovely art and music to go with your verses Rob. Hope all is well. Thanks for joining in.
My pleasure Grace, as long as I am able to my friend! 😉
A very effective use of the poetic form to describe the effects of music, Rob…
Thannk you Andrew… 🙂
Beautiful lyrical poetry, my friend. a prayer waiting for the exhale…
a breath made sound — a sigh that’s half a prayer
Very pleased this spoke to you True… 🙂
Extraordinary piece. Adore it to pieces. Thanks for writing this. Blessings. And Bette… beautiful.
Thank you Selma… 🙂
If I hadn’t already known, Rob, I would have worked out from this poem that you’re also a musician.
Music, poetry, and art are so entwined in my essence, and such an embedded part of my being — they are almost a single thought for me… 😉
