—-<§>—-
rivers cut deep through mountain and memory
oregon skies stretch wide — vast with promise
birds bring sunrise with their morning song
keeping watch — forests stand ever vigilant
in every branch — safe refuge for fur’n’fowl
stoney coast of cliffs and coves rises majestic
trees bend in defiance — but do not surrender
nature doesn’t just survive — it boldly thrives
every season teaches its lesson without apology
roots run deep in this wonderful wild wonderland

In praise of nature. Excellent Rob
Thank you, Sean. I appreciate your kind words! 🙂
A sterling name acrostic, Rob, which echoes your love of nature. Thank you for sharing the Oregon landscape. I agree that ‘every season teaches its lesson without apology’, and see it even in my own flat landscape.
Thank you for the kind words Kim… 🙂 …mother nature is a stern teacher!
I know how much you love the natural world around you. I especially like the first line, “rivers cut deep through mountain and memory.”
Thank you MERRIL! I am pleased that resonated for you. I dwelled on it for awhile — how do I capture a reader when I’m just spelling my name?
I love this Rob great take on the challenge ?
Thank you very much Ange… 🙂
Nice one Rob.
Thanks for dropping by my blog
Much love
My pleasure Gillena, thank you… Much love to you my friend. 🙂
Rob, smiling at you name acrostic poem. Each line a reflection of who you are and you deep love for nature. Roots do indeed run deep in your heartland.
Thank you True — I am a forest mouse, not a city mouse… 😉
Rob, I watch a YouTube Channel, Flyscout Rider, where Diego rides through the mountains of Oregon on his bicycle. After your poems and Diego’s rides, I know I will visit Oregon and her beauty one day. Thank you for the beautiful poem and images <3
I came here from the Midwest, not terribly far from where you are relative to where I’m at now and I had no idea what to expect. My wife Kathy went to college in Idaho. Told me how beautiful the Pacific Northwest was. I’ll tell you when I got to Oregon, I couldn’t believe it! To get here we drove criss vountry, seeing the sights along the way. The last leg was a couple hundred, through the Columbia gorge, along the Columbia river — it just got better and better as we drove. I really likr Seattle too — but leth me tell you Oregon is the place — the Oregon coast, the mountains, the high desert, the Willsmete vally… it’s just beautiful.
Love your painting and your poem.
Judy, thank you… 🙂
I really enjoyed this, Rob, well done sir. And your artwork is exquisite. I absolutely love it.
Thank you so much Chris… :’
