F ate is dancing in the moonlight
in a gossamer gown of falling stars
silhouetted against the night sky
in the satin silver chill of winter

she whirls dream room to dream room
the whole world close enough to touch
on this deep night of ecstatic lovers
entwined on soft silken beds of wonder

the bow of love songs pulled just right
taut golden strings are pressed down tight
the passion-winged hearts of lovers unite
lift them trembling in sensual delight

to soar over moonlit rooftops above
ablaze in soul-fire magic of love
as lovely fate dances in moonlight
on this satin chill winter’s night
in her wondrous gown of stars

  1. Very beautiful, rhythmical and romantic, I love your use of celestial imagery, for me – it depicts that love written about is not just bodily, but spiritual as well.

  2. I love the gorgeous, sensuous, Rob artwork! The poetry ain’t bad either. Bend shut down yesterday basically … still shut, all iced in.

    1. Thank you, Helen. BUSTED! 😉 I will openly admit, this was a quick poem I created early this morning to wrap around the artwork, the art was my primary focus. The piece I did of “Fate Dancing” started the whole thing. There are a few good lines in the poem that I’m sure I will scavenge to use them in another piece in the future. 🙂

  3. Beautiful circularity and imagery in this dance of fate, Rob. I particularly love the icy sibilance of the ‘satin silver chill of winter’ and the phrase ‘the bow of love songs pulled just right’.
