Make It Stop

Original DDE™  art: “OCD” by: rob kistner © 11/3/25

—-<§>—-

madness whips the trembling air

time loses its ever steady stare

as all once seen as solid —  loses hold

reality spins — and perception folds

thoughts invade — reason thins

chaos laughs — upheaval grins

suddenly thinking is heavy as sin

facts jumble in a mental whirlwind

  1. I hope it’s ok that I read all this in the Vincent Price voice from the end of the song “Thriller.” It fit perfectly. Well done, Sir.

    1. Read it as you see it De. I have learned to live with it, actually employing it in the act of creating. Like Joni Mitchell, at my creative work I am meticulous, but my creative space frequently looks like a storm hit it.

  2. Very well written, Rob. Time to turn off the talking heads it seems. They just stir up the drama and anxiety!

  3. Another poem I can relate to,Rob. The mental whirlwind can be exhausting at times. especially when:
as all once seen as solid — loses hold
reality spins — and perception folds

    1. Facts have been lost, plowed under, twisted, revisioned, and left in the sun to brittle & bleach. truth left the game a long time ago. All we have left is just what drivel people will believe, !Pathetic!
