Devouring

A uburn mane with sable streaks
tips frosted ermine — lush with pride
a bounce and whip, and sultry snap
with each stiletto’d wanton stride

taut hips roll high on slender stems
that part in ripples then enmesh
a brushing sigh of stirring heat
toned thighs gliding flesh on flesh

a stare of comely crystal blue
penetrates above a ruby pout
that takes you in devouring
has its way, then casts you out

tongue tip teases top lip’s edge
like supple paintbrush flowing
a smile to burn and hypnotize
that wraps around you knowing

if she’s near you can’t think straight
your brain goes dizzy — all off course
make no mistake she’s the reason why
the wild disturbance in your force

her beauty like a sensuous song
when she’s near — music’s playing
beware your heart not sing along
or soon your on your knees n’praying

luscious wench — worldly wise
sleek as steel — tall and strong
swift and cunning — motor running
she might acquiesce, but not for long

poor fool who tastes this lusciousness
is quite hopelessly addicted
there’s only one word for this life-force
that word, my friend, is — wicked!

    1. Thanks Larry. Because of arthritis in both hands, I have to depend on Siri to type my text. She doesn’t always understand me, and I don’t always catch the errors.

  1. Each stanza is luscious … my favorite:
    luscious wench — worldly wise
sleek as steel — tall and strong
swift and cunning — motor running
she might acquiesce, but not for long

      1. The work-around is the chunky heel. It gives some height and extension without destroying the wearer’s ankles, knees, and feet. I know two women who have had multiple surgeries because of the damage done by high heels.

        1. I understood from your other comment Shawna, that you, like I, don’t admire the stiletto. In neither of your fashion reviews, did you indicate what you thought of my writing in my ironic piece, “Devouring”, which addressed the wonderfully “extreme” visual prompt that Carrie offered — which I am reasonably certain she presented as a surreal stereotypical image. I also wrote another extended piece called “Wild Hearts”, regarding human responsibility toward the planet we share with wildlife, and all other living things. That piece addressed, in my opinion, perhaps the most beautiful and meaningful image in Carrie’s group of images today. I notice you made no comment about my piece, “Wild Hearts”. You have every right to express your disdain for fashion, but please do that on your own site. I would appreciate comments left here to be about my writing, or at least make a comment about my writing — not just the subject. Any comment about the subject I choose to write about is perfectly fine — as an aside. Thank you for hearing me out Shawna. I always appreciate and welcome your visits my friend.

  2. I think if mankind would temper its need to sate cravings, it could just appreciate and be grateful that there are beautiful, stimulating creatures in the world to enjoy. They don’t have to be owned, conquered, raped, or killed. I’m extending the metaphor to the earth, animals, etc. It’s the same logic as not picking flowers so as not to destroy them just for the sake of making them a centerpiece.

    1. Thank you Shawna. I was just reacting to the essence of the photo that Carrie posted as a visual prompt on her site, The Sunday Muse. I find stilettos ridiculous, and can only imagine how brutal it must feel to wear them. I simply wrote an over-the-top piece as irony to the stereotype projected by stilettos. Would have really liked to know your opinion of my writing my friend.

      1. I apologize for commenting in a way you did not find appropriate. You are one of many who find me incompetent at leaving acceptable feedback. I don’t know why I keep trying to communicate with anyone. 🙂

        1. Your comment was fine, just incomplete. I am interested in your impression of the quality of my writing, not just the subject. You have visited me over 50 times, and I appreciate it. I regret if I sounded harsh. Please continue to visit and comment Shawna… 🙂

        2. I’m only here because I am consistently drawn to your work and find you an impressive writer and thinker. You know that.
