Friendship
raise the carafe with care
pour forth freely
to drink deep
this wine of friendship
ripened well with time
aged to a vintage true
the seasons have been kind
to this nectar rare
let its heady fragrance
sweeten all your thoughts
and its bright taste
linger long and lush
may it lighten your burden
warm your heart
and lift your spirit
to a place of peace & beauty

true friendships…to have one truly care…it is a rare vintage for sure and once found should be drunk deep and enjoyed for as long as it lasts…smiles…
Well I’ll drink to that lovely poem… Cheers!
Very nice! Now I’m thirsty! Cheers!
Sounds good to me! K.
nice use of the wine verbs to write about friendship…fits perfectly…the ripening, the fragrance…great
This ticks all the boxes set by the prompt. Excellent piece.
Rob, the best friendships should be decanted… and all have their vintage. The best is when you both fall out of communication and reunited, pulling the cork out and sipping the familiar wine… I loved every bit of this, Rob. Amy Mine’s a bit naughty and out of the form of some others, but I like it!

Rob, tried to leave a comment, unsure it “took,” WordPress problems.
The best friendships should be carefully decanted from time to time, and all have their vintage… the best is when two are parted for some time and reunited, uncorking the old bottle and sipping that vintage that is only theirs. Love this. Amy
