Love’s Summer Serenade / Seaside

Love’s Summer Serenade

sing to me my sweet sweet lover
songs as soft as silk and satin
sensual as a bare embrace
warm summer sun upon our face

promise me the world is ours
that this perfect moment’s endless
lift me up on rapture’s cloud
my racing heart is pounding loud

make melody set sail our souls
fill our hearts with passion’s fire
smother me in scorched sweet kisses
oh what a fiery bliss this is

come to me and take me timeless
sweep me off to ecstasy
enfold me in your deepest dreams
simmering under summer moonbeams

so hot we’re looking for some shade
aflame in love’s sensual serenade

Seaside

soft sand warms bare toes

senses stirred by surging surf

summer at seaside

love as fresh as ocean breeze

kisses hot as sizz’ling sun

  1. Sorry Rob; did you mean SWEEP me, or am I reading wrong…?
Having said that, I don’t think I’d be quite that articulate with a passion like that burning in me…
Seaside tanka … wish you were here…?
    … oh that’s another song isn’t it?

  2. Neat blog!
Seaside is so great that you could make it into a “soft touch” greeting card, paper or online.

Love’s Serenade impresses me, and these in particular:
    scorched caresses

Come to me and take me timeless…
I emphasized “take” because I think most people would have written “make me timeless;” I find “take me timeless” a surprising and thought-provoking concept.

  3. Hot and steamy but classy. I love them both and especially this line in the first….”come to me and take me timeless”. What a beautiful concept.

    1. Thanks Dwight. Yessir, my health has changed dramatically. I had no Pacemaker, nor did I have a diagnosis of CHF, and my arthritis had not YET made my creating my Serenity Totem mixed-media art impossible, and I was still able to do the traveling juried art shows with my wife Kathy. Now my beloved is in a real battle with cancer. It starts back up intp high gear again shortly. 6 weeks of radiation on her thtoat cancer, and unfortunately chemo — every day M-F, plus 3 other weekly appts every week. Nutritionist, pain management, and oncologist. 8 total appointments every week, each requires a 30 mile round trip to get to the Hutch Cancer Center at UW Medical in downtown Seattle from where we live on the NE shore of Lake Washington. I will be driving like a madman for 6 weeks because I will not let Kathy do this by herself, and sometime in the dnd of the second week the nausea and extreme fatigue set in. Helluva a summer for my poor wife.

        1. Thank you Rall. My wife has been there for me as my health has declined — she does not deserve this. At 16 years younger than I, she was supposed yo have years not having to put up with me — not fucking fair.

    1. When my head gets in a rhythm place it shows in my writing — especially when I begin writing. I subconsciously begin to think in verses, choruses, bridges, and hooks. When I am melancholy I don’t rhyme and the music in me is gone. When I am depressed it gets vewy vewy dark in here. I was also healthier snd happier 13 years aho Lisa.
